How Mobile App Testing Different From Web App Testing?

 Web Applications

Web applications are computer programs that run in a web browser. They are ordinarily designed with the assistance of HTML5, CSS, and Java Script. Examples of web applications are webmail, on-line stores and net banking.

Mobile Applications

A mobile application is a type of application designed to run on a mobile device, which can be a Smartphone or tablet computer. Regardless of whether applications are typically little programming units with restricted capacity, they actually figure out how to give clients quality administrations and encounters.

They are of three types: mobile web apps, native apps, and hybrid apps.

What is App Testing?

Whether it comes to testing web or mobile applications, the primary aim is to ensure that an app is user-friendly and able to function properly under different circumstances, even if it's already in production. Furthermore, both mobile & web application testing varieties include common types: functional testing & usability testing.

Mobile App Testing v/s Web App Testing

1. User Interface

From the viewpoint of interaction with users, most web applications are limited to a mouse and a keyboard, and all the operations can be performed by clicking or hitting a particular key. On the other hand, mobile apps offer a wider scope of options in this respect. While all the tapping, swiping, pulling and pinching is not as challenging to test, but there are voice assistants and move commanders to be included in your testing checklist.

2. RAM & Storage

Mobile apps are updated more frequently than their web counterparts, it is critical to test how your app affects memory and whether it resumes proper work after a number of updates and installations. And the specifications like 2GB RAM and 16GB storage space put restraints on operation and app performance.

Desktop work faster in this case. Web apps are updated less frequently. Outdated hardware, low storage, and many tabs opened simultaneously can slow down web apps, too but, they are less harmful.

3. Internet Connection

It has to be tested that mobile & web app are working in different speeds of internet or not. Though it is difficult for mobile apps to work without internet connection, and same case can occur with web app also. But web apps relatively work in these circumstances. Also, how these apps react to the interrupted connection, is a challenge to test.

4. Compatibility

It is more compatible to test a web app due to the functionality of a desktop. On the other hand, mobile apps are comparatively tough to test due to their different varieties & expanded functionality.
